SCOPE
LADC is the major Latin-American event dedicated to discussing the many issues related to computer system dependability. This symposium succeedsthe well established Brazilian Symposium on Fault Tolerant Computers. Its objective is to provide a forum for international and Latin-American scientists and engineers to present their latest research results and application experience in this very dynamic field. The first LADC was held in São Paulo, Brazil, in October 2003, while the second was held in Salvador, Brazil, in October 2005. In its third edition the symposium is going to take place in Morelia, Mexico.

CALL FOR FAST ABSTRACTS

Fast Abstracts are short presentations, either on new ideas or work in progress, or opinion pieces that can address any issue relevant to dependability. Major topics of interest can be found in the LADC Call for Papers. Fast Abstracts is a good opportunity for authors to state positions on challenging or controversial issues, present new ideas, indicate new directions to open problems and finally summarize work not yet completed.

SUBMISSIONS GUIDELINES
Academics and industrial practitioners are invited to submit fast abstracts limited to two pages (IEEE double-column format). The accepted contributions will be presented as a
short talk during the conference and it will be published in a Supplementary Volume of the third edition of LADC. The paper must be submitted in its final form, ready to be printed and authors are required to follow the IEEE Computer Society style.

Submissions must be made electronically, in either PDF or PostScript format to the following email: fabiola@ufba.br, with subject: "LADC2007 FA: author's name".

Important Dates

Submission:      August 17, 2007
Notification:      August 22, 2007

SELECTION
There will be no revision phase and papers will be selected by the Fast Abstracts Chair and the Conference Program Co-Chairs. The criteria of acceptance will be: i) relevance and interest to the community ii) capacity to stimulate healthy debate and iii) arrival time. Therefore, authors are encouraged to send their submission well in advance before the final deadline. We will accept as many Fast Abstracts as possible, The amount is limited by the available presentation time at the conference. By submitting a Fast Abstract, you are committing yourself or one of your colleagues to present it at the conference.
