There is an international airport in Oaxaca. The main airlines serving Oaxaca are:

• Mexicana (from/to Mexico City, Los Angeles, Guadalajara, Mérida and Tuxtla Gutierrez)

• Aeroméxico (from/to Mexico City)

• Vivaaerobus (from/to Mexico City)

• Volaris (from/to Tijuana, but you can connect this flight to San Francisco/Oakland)

• Continental (from/to Houston)

Check with the airlines for frequency of flights.

Alternatively, you could fly to Mexico City and take a six hours bus ride or a five hour drive to Oaxaca. You could get advantage of this and spend a couple of extra days to tourist in Mexico City!
