Practical Information

From the Mexico City Airport to your hotel

The best way to reach your hotel from the Mexico City Airport is to take an airport taxi. Here is how you do it: After leaving customs turn right and walk all the way down the hall until you reach Gate 10. Immediately after crossing this gate you will find three taxi stands where you can buy a taxi ticket. I recommend you use the company "Sitio 300" (first taxi stand, white and yellow cabs). Their fare to downtown Mexico City (Zona 3) is 127 Mexican pesos (about USD 11, or EUR 9).

The weather

Mexico City is quite cold in January, especially inside the buildings. The lecture hall is not heated, so don't forget to bring a warm sweater, or a jacket, or both!

The lecture hall

Lectures will take place at the Bernardo Quintana Auditorium in the Palacio de Minería, a beautiful building built in 1813 to house the Royal Seminar of Mines, which is now part of the cultural patrimony of our National University. It is located within walking distance to the Zócalo (number 19 in this map).
