Ciudad Universitaria recibe a Pierre Fraigniaud

Proveniente de la Universidad de París VII Denis Diderot y del CNRS, Francia. Su visita es del 01 al 09 de febrero de 2018 en Ciudad Universitaria

Pierre Fraigniaud got his Master degree in Applied Mathematics from University Grenoble-Alpes (formerly University Joseph Fourier), and his Engineer degree in Computer Science and Applied Maths from ENSIMAG, in 1987. He got his PhD degree in Computer Science from ENS Lyon in 1990, and his Habilitation in 1994.

Pierre Fraigniaud joined CNRS in 1991. From Jan 2010 to Dec 2015, he was director of LIAFA (Laboratoire d’Informatique Algorithmique) located at University Paris Diderot, and from Jan 2016 to Dec 2017, he was director of IRIF (Institut de Recherche en Informatique Fondamentale) also located at University Paris Diderot.

His main research interest is parallel and distributed computing, and specifically the design and analysis of distributed algorithms and data structures for networks.

He is member of the Editorial Boards of Distributed Computing (DC), and Theory of Computing Systems (TOCS). He is Program Committee vice-Chair of the 31st IEEE International Parallel and Distributed Processing Symposium, in charge of the Track Algorithms (IPDPS'17). He was Program Committee Chair for the Track C of the 41st Int’l Coll. on Automata, Languages and Programming (ICALP’14), for the 30th ACM Symp. on Principles of Distributed Computing (PODC’11), for the 19th Int’l Symp. on Distributed Computing (DISC’05), and for the 13th ACM Symp. on Parallel Algorithms and Architectures (SPAA’01). He co-chaired the PC of the 2nd European Conference on Parallelism (EuroPar'96). He was Management Committee Chair of the European COST Action 295 DYNAMO on Algorithmic Aspects of Dynamic Networks.

In 2012, he received the Silver Medal from CNRS, and, in 2014, the Prize for Innovation in Distributed Computing.

Es invitado del Dr. Sergio Rajsbaum Gorodezky para colaborar en un proyecto de investigación en algoritmos distribuidos.
