ABSTRACT:
We will discuss the main questions of global existence of solutions and blow-up in finite time, in particular in the case of subcritical nonlinearities.

The talk aims to describe some connections between semilinear heat
equations and the associated elliptic problems. Some recent results
about sign changing solutions will be presented.
