We consider the elliptic problem  \(-\Delta u+|\nabla u|^q=\lambda f(u)\) in \(\mathbb{R}^N\setminus B(0,R_0)\), where \(N\geq 2\), \(q>1\), \(f\in C^1(0,+\infty)\) is nondecreasing and positive and \(\lambda > 0\) is a parameter. Under suitable assumptions on \(f\) near zero or infinity, we obtain some nonexistence results for positive supersolutions, depending on the relative values of \(q\) and \(N\), and on the parameter \(\lambda\).
