String C-group representations of finite groups, and in particular of finite simple groups, have gained a lot of interest in the last 15 years thanks to their connection with abstract regular polytopes.

We will define what they are, show the link with the theory of abstract regular polytopes and give some recent results on string C-group representations of some families of groups.
